Last photoshoot of the year

Today was the last photographic project of the year with new scenes photographed outdoors in different locations. The new project, which goes by the working title "Under the night greenery", is a work that I will present at my upcoming exhibitions in the spring.

At the moment I have photographed four different scenes and there will be several pictures from this series that I have wanted to make for a long time, which feels extra good now that the snow out in the landscape is here to stay.

You can follow my works in progress here on Instagram.

In a silent landscape

Today I visited new snow landscapes for my ongoing project Under the night greenery in Västerbotten. The plan is for the works to be photographed later in December and during the winder. The works will be included in my upcoming shows and the project will also be available to read about as under the process tab here on the website later.

It is truly a pleasure to set out to try to find new environments and places in such a fantastic winter landscape where everywhere you turn you are surrounded by a silent landscape.

Thank you so very much!

Thank you to everyone who came to the Friday opening. It was really fun that so many braved the rain and cold to visit the exhibition. It felt great to hear your thoughts and reflections on my work and especially to show a work from a place that many visitors have such heartfelt meaning for.

The exhibition runs until January 25th and more information about the public talk with Diana Berntsdotter Vallgren and Linda Nordlander Frisk will be coming later. A warm welcome to visit the exhibition!

I have put the last pieces
of the puzzle in place

The final preparations and puzzle pieces are starting to fall into place for tomorrow's opening of my exhibition Brytningstid. I am very happy to be able to realize this exhibition and present my largest photographic work ever. It feels like a very nice feature that gives the entire showroom a pleasant atmosphere to step into.

Hope you find time to find yourself there and meet the magnificent and sublime in this exhibition which runs for the next 6 weeks until January 25.

Behind the scenes of the new exhibition

This week I have started the hanging of my new exhibition which will open on Friday next week. Together with the staff at the museum, we installed my biggest photographic work ever. The work is almost 20 square meters in size and it feels really fun to present this at the Museum as the place in the picture is taken from the local area.

Next week, more work awaits with lighting and press screening in the opening, which takes place on Friday evening.

A special request from Italy

A little over a month ago, I received a request from Fondazione Leonardo, Italy if I would consider including one of my photographic works in their latest magazine which is focus in science, technology and innovation. I said Yes and received the magazine the other day.

It's always fun to see your pictures in print and it feels good to see your work in a well-curated context with both pictures and texts.

Welcome to the opening of my new exhibition

A lot is happening right now for me with work for the upcoming exhibition and planning of the winter's various projects that I will soon start and do some more field studies in Västerbotten's small villages and landscapes. There are many things that need to be done, but also work with transport, disassembling autumn lights and collecting works from the framer. I am also a little extra excited as I will be presenting my biggest photographic work.

Therefore, it makes me extra happy to be able to share the poster and take the opportunity to invite to the opening of my solo exhibition at Örnsköldsvik's museum and Konsthall. The exhibition opens on December 6 and runs until January 25, 2025.

More about the opening and the exhibition can be found at the link: https://www.ornskoldsvik.se/fritid-och-kultur/kultur/ornskoldsviks-museum-och-konsthall/ornskoldsviks-museum-och-konsthalls-utstallningar/aktuella-utstallningar/2024-11-11-brytningstid

The installation is now complete and soon a new exhibition..

Now finally my latest installation is in place with all the associated parts. It feels really fun and nice that everything is now in place. Today I have documented the work and the text about the work can be read under the installations tab here on the website.

Otherwise, work continues with other projects and exhibitions. In a little more than a month, I will open my new solo exhibition at Örnsköldsvik Museum and Konsthall, which I am very much looking forward to. More info about that exhibition will come shortly.

27 October 2024

Finally it begins..

After a lot of work last week, the two installations are now in place. There are some small adjustments that I will make in the near future, but I am very happy that everything is finally up despite all the setbacks during this project. A full text and documentation will come as soon as the final details are in place. Pictures from the process can be found on my instagram.

The light in the tunnel

This weekend I worked on the two installations that will shortly be presented at this year's light festival. It feels really good to finally begin to finish this project which meant a lot of work for me.

I am very grateful for the support and help I have received during the process and I also look forward to seeing the finished results. For more information about this year's festival, you can see on the link below.

Digging in the park

Today I was able to carry out the excavation with the help of an excavator driver of the six concrete foundations that will be used for my two installations of this year's autumn lights which will soon be installed.

It was a little nervous before it went away once we started working together to place the various foundations. It's always fun to be able to work together with new people, even if it sometimes creates tension as there is a lot of planning that is done before, as in this case when the excavator driver shows up on site. But wants to succeed in completing the job within the allotted time. So now the next step in the process awaits.

A weekend in Lofoten

I had the great pleasure of visiting Lofoten during this intense weekend with the two towns of Svolvær and Henningsvaer. After visiting this year's LIAF art festival, I took the opportunity to photograph a brand new work on one of Lofoten's oldest mountains. It was a fantastic experience to visit the place and would love to go back very soon. The work from the site is coming soon can be found under "works" where several of my latest works are posted continuously.

Between the projects

Right now there is a lot going on with my ongoing projects where I jump between building the set for my new work and with the work for this year's Höstljus in Umeå which has required a lot of preparations and planing which I must also start working on very soon.

Of course, it is stressful to have to go between two projects, but sometimes it can also be stimulating to be able to take turns because it is not every day that you can make progress, but you sometimes have to wait for answers or think an extra turn before making important decisions in the process. I.

On this Instagram link, you can see more documentation from the work that is currently being produced in a slightly more updated way because there is a lot going on in the project studio now.

The spruce forest

Depending on the landscape. Dependence on spruce forest. In this new work, I try to both make visible and investigate the function of the spruce in my surroundings in times of the green transition that is currently underway in northern Sweden where I live. It was obvious to mix the plant into the work and the scenography in some way where it could have a significant role.

This work will be able to be read about in the future under the project tab here on the website because this is something that I am interested in right now and would like to immerse myself more in my artistry.

24 September 2024

The first scene of autumn

Now that all the material is finally in place in the project studio, I have decided to take the chance and take the opportunity to produce a new photographic work that has been in the back of my mind for a long time. The scenography for the staged photography will also be photographed in the same room under construction that I am currently working in.

So there will be some logical problems to solve, problems to solve along the way, but it feels very luxurious to be able to working on several projects at the same time, even if the brain goes into high gear and tries to remember where I put all my tools.

20 September 2024

Now the seriousness begins!

After many twists and turns, all the building materials finally arrived in place for the autumn's various projects. It's always just as exciting to receive such a large amount of material that will go to new works. But it feels really great to finally be starting to realize the plans. So there will be a lot of work ahead.

Sometimes it's great to be able to work outdoors

At the beginning of December, my next solo exhibition opens. Today I have been out photographing the work that I see as the main work for the exhibition. Today was a day that was really grateful to work outdoors together surrounded by wonderful people who helped realize this work that I look forward to presenting later.

More about the exhibition will come later, but I can already say that I am really looking forward to realizing this work at the museum where it will hang, even if I have a lot of other things to do before then.

My new work in a wonderful Museum collection in Italy

I am very happy to share the wonderful news that my latest work "I will show you how the mountains move under our feet when the clouds stretch from the cloud cover's unfiltered light gaze" (2024) which I am currently showing at the Museo in Trento in Italy is now part of the permanent Collection of the Museo Nazionale della Montagna "Duca degli Abruzzi" CAI Torino.

I feel very honored that the work is included in this beautiful museum.

My installation and new texts from MUSE, Trento Italy

I am very happy to be able to share these texts where you can now read about my installation that I am currently showing at the Museum of Science, Trento Italy.

The text describe the work very well and it is truly an honor to be a part of this fantastic context with your new work. You will find more pictures of the installation and the work under the category Installations or click here.

7 August 2024

The first three

It is now a little more than a week since I came back to Sweden after Italy. During the last few days, I have worked intensively on building up the first three scenographers outdoors for the work with the working title "surroundings of the landscape" for which I have done preliminary studies and models during the summer.

There is more text about the ongoing work available to read under the ongoing projects.

The new exhibition in Italy

It was very warm and intense work week in Trento, Italy.

A fantastic journey filled with exciting conversations and meetings amid laughter with new inspiring people. I'm still completely overwhelmed after all the response during Saturday's opening. I hardly had time to get any pictures during the evening.

I am also very grateful and incredibly proud to be part of such a fine and important context where art and science are combined side by side in such a fine museum and beautifully curated by Andrea Lerda.

It is also really interesting to take part in new scientific research in the field that exists and to read together about my work in the beautiful in catalogue. The texts are written by Francesco Meneguzzo, Federica Zabini, Ilaria De March, Felix Windegger and Christoph Kircher.

More news about the exhibition will come soon on the website and for more information about the show. The exhibition runs until November 17.

Work in progress in Trento, Italy

After a long day of travel yesterday I finally arrived in Trento, Italy where this week I am installing my new work which will be displayed in a fantastic museum until the middle of November. It's hot outside so it feels very nice to be inside working during these hot hours of the day.

The exhibition has its opening on Saturday and I can shortly also present more about the exhibition here on the website. A physical and digital catalog with images and texts will also be released. It feels incredibly fun to both participate but also to be part of such a fine exhibition with many interesting artists!

Very excited about this upcoming exhibition

I am very happy to announce that I am one of the invited artists in the exhibition “The Mountain Touch” at Museo delle Scienze di Trento, Italy with opening at 18 am, July 27th. In the exhibition I present a completely new work that is a site-specific installation that include photography on glass, a video and a room installation which I have developed during the last months.

17 artists and their works in dialogue with scientific content. Two museums united to tell the story of the association between good health and connection with nature through art and science. This is the theme explored in the exhibition The Mountain Touch, which will be inaugurated at the MUSE - Museum of Science in Trento on 27 July 2024. The exhibition “The Mountain Touch” is an art-science project conceived and produced by the National Mountain Museum.

Warm welcome and I am really looking forward to seeing this exhibition in place!

A combination with exhibitions in different environments

Autumn begins to fill up more and more with new exhibitions in new places and exciting challenges in the public space.

The combination of these two environments is very fun conditions for realizing ideas but also gives the opportunity to experiment with new tools.

The picture on the left shows the place where I will have an upcoming solo exhibition later this year that I have now started planning for.

A reflection on my work which is placed in a hospital

A nice post was recently published about my work being purchased and placed at Skaraborg Hospital, Skövde. It's nice to hear about reflections and afterthoughts about one's work at the same time that they have a function in the public space.

" Loneliness or being part of something bigger? Both concepts are complex and nuanced, and can be interpreted in many different ways. So also this work with the long title The careful mirror of the horizon stretches forward through the shimmer where the steps temporarily rest. by Peter Stridsberg , which was recently acquired by the art unit"

Guest teacher and examiner

Last week I was a guest teacher and was an examiner at Umeå Art School's graduation exhibition. A few weeks ago I received the request and always enjoys sharing his thoughts and reflections on artistic works.

That was also the case this time. Really Fun day that made me discover and talk about the students' work, but also to discuss their different processes.

Warm thanks again for your invitation and this experience of being a guest teacher to your students.

Preliminary studies for upcoming works

Right now I'm developing templates for my upcoming sets that I will try to build in full scale during the summer. The models are on a scale of 1:10 and are preliminary studies to partly find the size of the different windows in the scenography but also to plan the location of the various works when these will later be built outdoors.

17 May 2024

Västerbottens museum next!

Today I have handed over three newly produced works that will be shown in a group exhibition at the Västerbottens Museum this summer and well into September.

It is always just as exciting to exhibit work that has not been shown before in an exhibition context. The three photographic works include the suite The window towards the road by the lake (2023)

Abisko and new landscapes
for upcoming exhibitions

Yesterday was an intense, wet and cold working day among the Swedish mountains and mountain landscape. It was of course no surprise, but I feel extremely grateful and privileged to have the help of such a team with the execution of yesterday's production. This would not have been possible without you.

The new works with both photographic and cinematic elements will be presented in a larger work that will be presented at an incredibly fine international museum exhibition in Europe. Which I am very happy to be a part of. I will be able to present more information about the exhibition shortly.

23 April 2024

New puzzle pieces

Between the intensive work of the last few weeks, I have started to experiment a little for some upcoming works and projects in the studio. I often work with several works at the same time, even if it is in media or materials. It is a way for me to be able to develop projects without having to spend a lot of time on planning and implementation, which is otherwise most common when I work with my installations or set designs. Then it feels very fun to be able to do things on a smaller scale that can function as preliminary studies with testing new methods.

My processes involve putting a lot of puzzles together and finding different methods. Sometimes these exprements can be the keys to being able to solve larger projects. Therefore, I value this part of the process highly, even if it may not always be visible in a finished work.

22 April 2024

Exhibition in Hjåggsjö

I am happy to announce that I will participate and exhibit one of my works during this year's “Konst åt alla" It feels very good to be part of this group exhibition. This consists of various artists from the area around Västerbotten.

The exhibition opens on May 14 at 5 - 8 p.m.
It runs until May 19. Warm welcome!

14 April 2024

Processes from the studio

Spring has reached the studio and several new sketches and experiments are taking shape in the studio. Some small and subtle scenographic fragments.

At the same time, I am working on developing a site-specific installation that I will soon be able to share. The work will be presented this summer and throughout the fall. So more information about this work will come shortly.

New tab about Public Commissions

I also sometimes work with proposals for public art in public spaces. In the last year I have made several proposals and it is a fun way to develop my artistry and create new encounters with art for people in the public space.

I have now added a new category above on the website among the menu where you can take look at them and read.

The image is taken from a news article photographed by Marcus Berglund.

Work on Restaurant Gondolen in Stockholm

One of my photographic works is now displayed at the entrance to Restaurang Gondolen in Stockholm. It feels good to show my work in this context, where guests can encounter the work in a cozy and convivial atmosphere.

Very happy to be able to make this possible. The work was photographed at the Flatens nature reserve in Stockholm, which makes it extra fun to present it in the same city.

Good news x 2

I am happy that over two of my latest works will be part of the cultural plan in the Västerbotten region where I live and work. It feels very fun and full of honor that my works are in these documents where they describe plans for the culture within the next few years.

Also happy to announce that one of the works was recently purchased by Nässjö Municipality, which is already now located in their premises. The work is framed with a walnut frame in a box frame.

30 January 2024

New projects have started!

I have now started new projects which are currently in process and unfortunately I cannot reveal anything now, but it feels really fun and exciting to realize ideas and thoughts I have had for a longer period.

Now during the winter I will also change my studio and hope to get started with a larger project that will involve several different materials, techniques and ways of expression which I will update here on the website on an ongoing basis.

A lot of work awaits, but it will also be fun to get to know new materials and find new methods of expressions.
