I den varsamt lugna horisonten står vi inför histoiren som lagrats i mitt arvs närstående röst (2024)

A scene is staged here that portrays an encounter at a horizon where time, memory, and body move together. The work can be seen as a dialogue with the Romantic paintings of Caspar David Friedrich, particularly Wanderer above the Sea of Fog (1818) and Monk by the Sea (1808–1810), where the human being is confronted with the infinite and the mysterious grandeur of nature. At the same time, the project connects to my contemplative landscape depictions, where nature becomes a space for identity, loss, and transformation.
Through the staging, the landscape is explored as both a passage and a barrier — a symbol of belonging and vulnerability. The sea not only carries stories, but also functions as a metaphor for the space between past and present, between the place we visit and the one to which we belong. PREVIOUS
